VE Day 80 events in pictures
The Royal British Legion held a short commemorative service at the War Memorial for the commemoration of VE Day 80 which was well attended along with several dignitaries and servicemen laying wreaths to mark the event 
The Mayor of Ulverston, Cllr Graham Scrogham lit a beacon on top of Hoad Hill at 9.30pm which burned bright over the town as the sun set.
We would like to thank the Town Crier, Peter Winston for reading the VE Day 80 Proclamation and both members of Ulverston Town Band for playing the Last Post. Thank you also to all who attended and enjoyed a pleasant (if a little chilly!) evening on Hoad.
