Ulverston in Bloom

Ulverston in Bloom is a voluntary group which looks after the planting in Ulverston. This includes the tubs and planters, Jubilee Gardens, the Factory Shop Garden and planted beds around the town. Over the past two years Ulverston in Bloom has tried to increase the biodiversity locally by creating flower beds on North Lonsdale Road, outside Croftlands shops, in Brewery Street car park, behind the toilets in The Gill, in Mill Dam park and at the Blue Light Hub.

They have also planted trees by the Croftlands Shops, put up four information signs concerning Biodiversity and installed 30 swift boxes. This is in addition to the rest of the work they do all around the town using pollinator friendly planting and perennials where possible and making their own compost! Ulverston in Bloom also take part in the annual Eco Fair organised by Ulverston Town Council. Volunteers are always needed to help out, either by planting, weeding, pruning or general tidying. If you are interested contact the town council in the first instance and we will pass your details.
