Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the following arrangements have been made in Ulverston to mark her death and the accession of King Charles III to the throne.

Sunday 11 September 3.30pm

Procession to mark the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II and the proclamation of King Charles III

The Mayor will lead a procession from New Market Street to the war memorial for a short community service to pay tribute to the Queen and His Majesty King Charles III.

Ulverston Town Band will play, and there will be a short service led by Churches Together in Ulverston.

Members of the community are most welcome to attend, take part in the procession, and gather at the War Memorial to lay flowers.

After the service St Mary’s Parish Church bells will ring.

Books of Condolence

Can be signed at the Coronation Hall from 10am – 5pm every day

including the date of the funeral.

Floral Tributes

Flowers can be laid at the War Memorial.

We respectfully request that all plastic wrapping is removed so the flowers can be used to make compost. The town council will then use this to plant an Oak tree in memory of Her Majesty.

Flags

The flags are at half mast at the town council office, Market Place, Hoad Hill, and the war memorial.

Hoad Monument

The monument will be floodlit in purple for the duration of the period of mourning.

Charter Festival

The Charter Festival has been cancelled as a mark of respect.
