The Ulverston Place Plan is a strategic regeneration framework created in 2020 by the Ulverston Town Team – comprising of local businesses, community groups and councils to boost the town’s economic growth, cultural offerings, and community pride. Endorsed in 2021, it is tied to the Borderlands Inclusive Growth Deal.
Key Objectives and Focus Areas
- Economic Resilience: Safeguard existing local jobs and attract new enterprises in STEM, the green economy, and tech sectors
- Cultural Hub Creation: Establish an identifiable cultural center in the town focusing on community assets like The Coro (Coronation Hall), The Roxy Cinema, and Ford Park
- Town Centre Vitality: Enhance public spaces, physical environments, and accessibility to encourage more visitors and boost retail turnover.
