A590 Cross-a-Moor improvement scheme – Main Road and Cross-a-Moor road closures

A planned closure along the full length of Main Road, Swarthmoor and Cross-a-Moor. These closures are needed to allow us to safely carry out the drainage connection and kerb installation for the new link roads.

Main Road

We plan to close Main Road for two weekends:

• From Saturday 5 to Monday 7 February, between the hours of 6am and 6am
• From Saturday 12 to Monday 14 February, between the hours of 6am and 6am

During the first weekend we will be installing drainage across Main Road, the second weekend closure allows us to install new kerbs. This means that from Monday 14 February the road layout will change slightly.

There will be no through route between Trinkeld Avenue and the A590 while works are carried out. The residents that access properties from Main Road will be able to use the
A590 junction – including the right-hand turn – to ensure access is maintained across both weekends. All other traffic accessing Swarthmoor will be required to follow the
signed diversion route.

Please note that when the closure is removed, the right-hand turn ban will be back in force. The map below outlines the diversion route, no through route and new road layout.

Cross-a-Moor

The road between Cross-a-Moor and the Pennington Nursery will be closed from Monday 14 to Friday 18 February, between the hours of 6am and 4pm, to complete drainage installation for the new link road.
There will be no through route between the A590 and Pennington Nursery, residents of Cross-a-Moor will be able to access their properties from the A590 only. All other traffic will be required to follow a signed diversion route, however, access for emergency services will always be maintained. Our site team will also be in place to assist you if required.
