*DRAGLEY BECK FOOTBRIDGE UPDATE*
Dragley Beck footbridge has been closed for some time. The bridge was been declared unsafe by a structural engineer who advised there is severe damage to the bridge arch. There is no access to the Beck down the sides of the bridge at this time.
Westmorland and Furness Council are scheduled to commence work on site w/c 14th September, with all in-river works being undertaken within the governed river working window.
The deck slab, complete with the CB Arts architectural railings, will then be lifted into position in October once fabrication is complete. The railings will then be connected to the precast slab.
Ulverston Town Council have commissioned the architectural railings with
CB Arts which will depict the life of Sir John Barrow, and are a real work of art. The design is fantastic and we can’t wait to see it completed!
