The annual celebration of Ulverston’s Market Charter which was signed by King Edward 1 at Carlisle in 1280, will be held on Saturday 11 September in the town centre from 11 – 3.30. This years family fun event includes children’s activities, model railway rides, balloon modelling, plus lots of stalls and music throughout the door. The Deatbeats will be making a welcome return to the town centre together with saxophone quartet – Raggazza plus Blast Furness and Furness Morris. Northern Potters will also be taking part and will have gorgeous pottery items for sale plus there is an opportunity to have a turn at using a potter’s wheel. There will be free face painting and henna hand decoration.
At 1pm we will be holding a family dog show. The Mayor will make awards in a number of categories including the dog with the waggiest tail, cutest puppy and the dog who looks most like its owner
